IPR Strategic Business Information Database, September, 2002
Samsung Electronics memory chips sales in September are expected to reach US$630 million to $650 million, a new peak since November 2000. Brokerage company Dongwon Securities estimated Samsung's memory sales for the third quarter at around $1.8 billion, also the largest figure since the fourth quarter of 2000.
Dongwon said the average price of DRAM chips in the third quarter dropped some 8 percent compared with the second quarter. Yet Samsung's DRAM output in the third quarter was expected to increase 34 percent from the second quarter due to upgraded production lines. The company's brisk sales of non-DRAM memory products, including flash memories and static RAM, were also seen to boost its overall memory sales. - (World IT Report.com)
