MIDDLE EAST: CONFERENCE CALLS TO LIFT RESTRICTIONS ON ARAB AIRLINERS.(Brief Article)

According to Al-Hayat newspaper (October 24, 2002), participants in the First "Arab Conference for Liberalizing Air Transport Sector" urged the lifting of restrictions and obstacles imposed on airline companies in the Arab World. The Secretary General of the Arab Air Transport Association, Abdul-Wahhab Tofaha, said that there are two successful models for privatizing an airliner company in the Arab World.
The first one is the Dubai privatizing model, which increased air movement by 20 percent. The second model is the Lebanon airliner model, which increased air movement by 38 percent.
