According to Al-Hayat newspaper (February 3, 2003), the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announced that with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leading the way, Middle Eastern airports are preparing themselves for increasing passenger traffic flows in the next few years by rapidly expanding and developing new terminals, concourses, cargo terminals and runways - all being built to the most advanced and aesthetic specifications and standards possible.
The authority estimates the cost of developing and expanding the regional airports at more than $10 billion. This investment volume constitutes a magnificent opportunity for international investors in the sector of airports.
