LEBANON: WORLD BANK'S OBLIGATIONS TOWARD LEBANON VALUED.(Brief Article)

According to Al-Watan newspaper (September 30, 2003), the quarterly report issued by the World Bank shows that the World Bank is currently committed to 13 projects in Lebanon. The value of the World Bank's total financial obligation toward these projects is estimated at $529.44 million, of which the Bank had spent $164.79 million until July 31, 2003.

The World Bank's projects in Lebanon include modernizing irrigation system, providing technical assistance for financial administration, restructuring health sector, building public works and infrastructure facilities, in addition to education and rural development projects.
