According to "Bahrain Tribune", an agreement was signed between Ahlia University of Bahrain and Brunel University of London to permit students from Bahrain to complete their degrees at one of England's leading research universities. The agreement was signed during a ceremony by Ahlia president Dr Abdullah Al Hawaj and Brunel vice-chancellor and adviser for higher education to the British government Prof Steven Schwartz.

Dr Al Hawaj said that the agreement makes it possible for students who have joined a four-year bachelor's degree program in Bahrain to complete the final two years of their course at Brunel. As part of its worldwide activities, Brunel is establishing a limited number of strategic partnerships with universities in countries around the world.
