BRAZIL: PETROBRAS AND STATOIL SIGN COOPERATION AGREEMENT.(Brief Article)

IPR Strategic Business Information Database, October, 2003

Brazil's Petrobras and Norway's Statoil have signed an agreement to expand cooperation in oil and gas exploration and in other activities, which may include natural gas commercialization in foreign markets. Statoil executives said one of the possibilities would be to participate in a new liquefying plant in Rio de Janeiro state to process natural gas from Brazil's prolific Santos Basin, which would then be exported to the United States.

The agreement between Petrobras and Statoil is valid for three months, during which both companies will study proposed projects. - (EMEconomy.com)
