UAE: DOLPHIN PROJECT.(United Arab Emirates, Mitsui Co. natural gas pipeline project)(Brief Article)

A-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted Assistant Manager for Operations, Ahmad Ali a-Saygh, who said in September 2003 that the Japanese Mitsui Company won the tender to manufacture natural gas pipelines. The total investment for the project will reach more than DH 10 billion ($3.5 billion). The project is owned jointly 51% by the Abu Dhabi government, 24.5% by the French TotalFinaElf Oil Company, and 24.5% by the American Occidental Petroleum Oil Company.
The project includes an undersea natural gas pipeline connecting the gas fields in northern Qatar to the Emirates under the Persian Gulf.
