BAHRAIN: BAHRAIN PAVES WAY FOR E-GOVERNANCE.
IPR Strategic Business Information Database, February, 2004
Bahrain has successfully implemented the first phase of a collaborative project with Microsoft, paving the way for the bureaucracy's full transformation to e-government by the end of the year. The government's switch to the use of the MS Windows 2003 server, allowing easier administration and collaboration throughout all public-sector departments, was announced by the undersecretary of the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO), Sheikh Ahmed bin Ateyyatullah Al Khalifa at a press conference earlier this week.
The move came following the signing of a government security program (GSP) between the Bahrain government and Microsoft last month.
