USA: LOCKHEED MARTIN AWARDED CONTRACT TO DEVELOP LANDING SYSTEM FOR THE JSF.(Brief Article)

According to the DoD., Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $52,447,827 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00019-02-C-3002) for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) systems development and demonstration effort.a Under this modification, the contractor is required to remove the Automatic Carrier Landing System function and incorporate the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System in the JSF.a Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (80 percent), and El Segundo, Calif.

(20 percent), and is expected to be completed in April 2012.a Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
