RUSSIA: EUROPEAN COMMISSION REGARDS FRADKOV'S NOMINATION FOR PM AS POSITIVE MOVE.(Brief Article)

According to Ria Novosti, the European Commission regards the nomination of Mikhail Fradkov for the position of Prime Minister as an optimistic development, the commission's spokesman Rejo Kempinen has stated: "The Commission links this nomination with the development of EU-Russia relations and simplification of contacts at the bilateral level," Mr.

Kempinen also remarked that EC Chairman Romano Prodi congratulated Mikhail Fradkov on his nomination. Mikhail Fradkov was Russia's permanent representative at the EU until President Putin has nominated him for Prime Minister.
