YEMEN: OMRON PROVINCE PROMOTES TRADITIONAL HANDICRAFTS IN JEWISH COMMUNITY.(Brief Article)

According to IINA, more than 250 Jews who are living in the regions of Kharif and Raida in the Yemeni Province of Omron received equipment and tools for tailoring, leather work, handicraft, besides books, desks and building materials. The equipment and tools that were distributed by the National Tobacco and Match Company, and the local authorities, valued at Yemeni riyals three million.

This move is aimed at promoting the traditional handicraft profession of the Yemeni Jews in the leather industries, tailoring, carpentry and smithy, besides enabling them to fight poverty through making available new employment opportunities.
