BRAZIL: BURGER KING FORAYS INTO BRAZIL.(Brief Article)
IPR Strategic Business Information Database, August, 2004
Burger King, maker of the Whopper and other fast-food fare, said this week it had taken its initial steps toward launching operations in Brazil, South America's largest country. Although still studying the market, Burger King International said in a statement it was in negotiations with suppliers and had hired a public relations and advertising agency in the country.
Active in almost every other important Latin American country, Burger King had been notably absent in Brazil, allowing rival McDonald's and a slew of other fast-growing domestic chains to take control of the market. - (EMEconomy.com)
