INDIA: VSNL WINS NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR MANDATE ON SEA-ME-WE-4.(Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd.)(Brief Article)

According to "Business Line", Internet gateway and service provider Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd., (VSNL) has received the network administrator mandate for the proposed submarine cable, South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe-4 (SMW-4), beating global telecom giants like SingTel and Telekom Malaysia.
The primary role of the administrator is to monitor activation and deactivation of capacity anywhere between two points in the system and ensure smooth function of the submarine cable, they said adding, VSNL would also maintain an online site for SMW-4. The Tata group company would have the responsibility to manage the 20,000-km-long the submarine cable network connecting France to Singapore.
