LIBYA: ALCATEL AND NOKIA SIGN $244 MILLION LIBYA DEAL.(Libyan General Post and Telecommunication Company )(Brief Article)

Libya's state-run post and telecommunications company has signed a C200 million ($244 million) mobile phone network accord with Finland's Nokia and French telecoms equipment maker Alactel. The deal will involve the creation of new mobile phone network with a capacity of 2.5 million phone lines, according to a company official of the Libyan General Post and Telecommunication Company (GPTC).
Alcatel, which won the equivalent of about $100 million share of the deal, will supply GPTC with a radio access and core network system to service 2.5 milion users. - (World IT Report.com)
