IPR Strategic Business Information Database, September, 2004

Intel chief executive Craig Barrett, on a visit to Argentina, said he found a better climate for doing business more than two years after the collapse of Latin America's No. 3 economy. "The business climate has improved, the economy is recovering and that is good," Barrett, CEO of the world's largest chip maker, said.

Argentina's economy should grow 6 to 8 percent this year after 8.7 percent growth in 2003. During a devastating 1998-2002 financial crisis, the economy contracted nearly 20 percent. - (EMEconomy.com)
