JORDAN: JORDAN PETROLEUM REFINERY CO RECORDS 10% WITHDRAWAL IN SALES.(Brief Article)

According to Al-Khaleej newspaper (November 10, 2004), Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company reported that the volume of its sales, including all fuel, benzene and gas brands, decreased to 3.534 million tons in the first nine months of the current year, down from 3.927 million tons in the corresponding period last year.

These figures translate into a 10% withdrawal. Jordan has one refinery, at Zarqa, with a capacity of 90,400 bbl/d. The facility is in need of major upgrades, and its owner, the Jordan Petroleum Refining Corporation (JPRC), currently is studying its options.
