IPR Strategic Business Information Database, January, 2005
Gazprom-Media General Director Nikolai Senkevich said on 20 January that his company "undoubtedly plans to build up and expand our business," Interfax reported. The media holding of state-controlled Gazprom controls NTV, TNT, Ekho Moskvy, "Itogi," "Tribuna," and numerous other media properties. When the company was caught up in the 2001 takeover of NTV and other Media-MOST properties, company officials said that Gazprom intended to divest itself of its media holdings and other noncore assets as soon as possible. "We had a difficult childhood," Senkevich said. "I am sincerely grateful to all those who were there at the start, who have ever worked, and who continue to work for the company." RC
