TUNISIA: 31st POSITION IN WORLD IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

According to Al-Chourouk newspaper (July 4, 2005), the 2004/2005 Information Society Index issued by the World Economic Forum (Davos) ranked Tunisia in the 31st position in the world in terms of the use of information technology, communication technology and access to modern communication networks.
Tunisia is placed on top of all the African countries in the information technology sector and it proceed countries like Italy, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Romania and others. This is the major reason why the United Nations and the international community have chosen Tunisia to host the World Summit on the Information Society next November.
