CHINA: PUTIAN AND NOKIA TO FORM A 3G JV.

According to fdi.gov.cn: Putian and Nokia have signed a formal contract to form a JV to research, develop, manufacture and distribute Putian-branded 3G mobile communications products and solutions. The JV is reportedly to be built in the East Lake New-Tech Development Area in Wuhan. The company will focus on manufacturing network products and solutions based on two mainstream 3G standards (TD-SCDMA and WCDMA) as well as providing network engineering and optimizing services.
Commercial products based on TD-SCDMA and WCDMA systems will be rolled out in 2006 with the brand name Potevio.
