EGYPT: WHO: NO BIRD FLU IN EGYPT.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said that Egypt and the eastern Mediterranean area are free from the bird flu. Speaking to the Egyptian TV, Monday, November 28, WHO regional director in Cairo Hossain al-Gazaerli cited two bird flu cases in Kuwait as the only incidents of infection in the Arab world.
Egypt's Health Minister Mohamed Awad Tageddin said earlier in the day that Egypt has formed a higher committee with the Ministers of Agriculture, Environment, Transport and Aviation, the Interior and Foreign Affairs as members to follow up the latest in avian flu infections around the world. The committee will be in charge of inspecting farms in Egypt. Some 1,200 samples have undergone analysis over the past three months and none has proved positive, according to...
