EGYPT: DECISION TO CREATE PRIVATE AIRLINES.

Al-Khaleej newspaper quoted Director of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority Samir Abd al-Ma'aboud who said in late September 2005 that the Authority is acting to encourage foreign investments in civil aviation and tourism in the country. The Authority has decided to grant permits to set up private airlines with local capital or via foreign capital.
He said that equity in these companies will be at least EP 200 million per company for organized regular flights and EP 100 million for companies offering only occasional chartered flights.
