YEMEN: ELECTRICITY PROJECTS TO GO AHEAD.

According to Al-Hayat newspaper (December 20, 2005), the General People's Congress Party (GPC), the rolling party in Yemen, announced that the Yemeni government is planning to raise the local electrical power generation to 2,114 megawatts by 2010. It plans to supply electricity to the local villages by establishing stations with a capacity of 160 megawatts covering 3.5 million inhabitants.
