According to Al-Khaleej newspaper (April 30, 2008), the Central Bank of Qatar reported that the volume of personal loans offered by the operating commercial banks in the State of Qatar rose to QR 153.8 billion in 2007, up from QR 119.2 billion in the previous year, an increase of 28.9%. ($1 US = 3.64Qatari Riyals)
