JAPAN: MOODY'S ASSIGNS AAA TO US$2.5BILLION GUARANTEED BONDS OF JAPAN BANK FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION.

Moody's Investors Service has assigned Aaa rating to US$2.5billion Guaranteed Bonds due 2011of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the international arm of The Japan Finance Corporation (JFC), and at the same time placed the ratings under review for possible downgrade. The rating review reflects Moody's reassessment of the level of Japan's public sector support anchor, in accordance with the rating agency's unification of the government ratings at Aa2.

Moody's notes, however, that the outcome of the review is unlikely to lead to ratings below Aa2, given the strong institutional and financial support provided by the national government to these government-related issuers (GRIs).
