EGYPT: ELECTRICITY MINISTER: INVESTMENTS IN ELECTRICITY HIT LE 14B.

According to Egypt State Information Service: Investments in electricity generation projects were estimated at nearly 14 billion Egyptian pounds during the current year, Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis said on 19/6/2009. Younis also called for Electricity Holding Company's general assembly meeting next week.
During its meeting, the general assembly will review the coming five-year plan (2012-2017). Younis added that the electricity sector is trying to meet the ever growing demands on electricity. The total targets of power generation this year is expected to be almost 2250 megawatt. This would come through building a number of power generating stations, Younis added.
