When I was first asked if I would be interested in writing a distance learning course in organic NV chemistry, I had the same reaction that many of you reading the title of this article may be having. "I don't think it can be done ... .. It won't be very effective ... .. University level organic chemistry by correspondence?" And there are probably good reasons for having these doubts.
