The new Chemistry and Computer Science Building has given York's Chemistry Department new research facilities and brought new vigour and enthusiasm to the work being conducted there

On June 7, 1994, a "Celebration of Chemistry" took place at York University to commemorate the opening of new chemistry facilities in the recently completed Chemistry and Computer Science Building (see ACCN, September 1994, p. 10). The new facilities provide exciting new opportunities for the Department of Chemistry at York as they greatly expand its capacity both to teach chemistry and to do research.

The original master plan for the York campus called for a single building to house the Chemistry Department but this plan was shelved in 1969 by a general building moratorium....
