York University's newest research unit focuses on mass spectrometry.

York University, situated at the northwest corner of Toronto, is Canada's third largest university by student enrolment. Its chemistry department comprises 25 faculty members actively engaged in all major fields in chemistry'. In April 2000, York's Senate endorsed the creation in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science of an organized research unit specializing in mass spectrometric research. This unit, known as the Centre for Research in Mass Spectrometry (CRMS), draws upon faculty in both the departments of chemistry and biology. Currently, membership includes Drs. Diethard K.
