Peter Wilson, MCIC, is the recipient of the 2004 AstraZeneca Canada award in chemistry for his outstanding contributions to the field of synthetic organic chemistry. Wilson is a professor of chemistry at Simon Fraser University (SFU). The award recognizes the work that Wilson's research group has undertaken at SFU to synthesize complex natural products that have potent anti-inflammatory, anti-HIV and neuroprotective properties.
His research efforts concern the invention of new and efficient synthetic methods for drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry.
