Britannica publishes new student encyclopedia.(news from vendors)(Britannica Student Encyclopedia)(Brief article)

Teacher Librarian, October, 2007

Students in grades 3 through 6 will have a new way to do research with the Britannica Student Encyclopedia, prepared by the editorial department at Encyclopaedia Britannica. The 16-volume set features some 2,300 articles; 3,300 photos and images; and 1,000 maps and flags. The set also makes use of charts, tables, and fact boxes to help students find key information quickly.

"There's nothing on the market that combines the kind of broad coverage, lively writing, and presentation and rich graphical design that kids expect from reference books today," said Michael Ross, a senior vice president at Britannica and general manager of the company's education division. "That's why we created this encyclopedia." Visit www.eb.com or call 800.621.3900, for more information.
