I have read some of the dissertations in Catholic Insight about the Palestinian situation. I claim absolute ignorance about the Middle East and so judiciously avoid taking sides.
That being said, I could not help but notice the unbelievable irony during a most recent CBC newscast covering the situation in Paris. The death or "not" death of Yasser Arafat was being broadcast and a reporter was asking questions of one of the Palestinian spokespersons. He stated something to the effect that Palestinians do not believe in euthanasia. They do not believe in killing people. They think that nature should take its course.
My mind wandered over the thousands of hours of news footage showing the carnage from bus bombings, car bombs, and assassinations. And now...
