DaimlerChrysler and Millennium Cell, a development company in Eatontown, N.J., have unveiled a fuel cell vehicle with a hydrogen--on-demand system that produces [H.sub.2] by catalyzing sodium boro-hydride. The entire drive system fits beneath the passenger compartment, yet the vehicle has a range of 300 miles. Recycling the waste product, borax, remains an issue to address.
