Conrad's backlog jumps to $106 million.(Update)

Conrad Industries, Inc., Morgan City, La., has increased its order backlog to $106 million with the recent signing of contracts worth $50.3 million.

The contracts are for the construction of 14 barges, two escort tugs, an aluminum ferry and a major ferry repair.

Notable among the new-build orders are four 222 ft x 54 ft x 12 ft LPG inland tank barges. The tank barges will have a capacity of 16,000 bbl.

The other orders are for barges ranging in size from 120 to 192 ft.

Also among the orders for two 98 ft, Robert Allan-designed Z-Tech 7500 Class terminal/escort tugs, similar to four others currently under construction at Conrad's Orange Shipbuilding in Texas.
