Seabulk christens two Z-drive tractor tugs.(Update)

Seabulk Towing, Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., recently held a double christening for a pair of 98 ft Z-drive tractor tugs that will be used for ship docking in the Ports of Tampa and Manatee.

"I've been working in the industry for 30 years and this is the first time I was involved in a double christening," says Victor Davis, vice president and general manager of Seabulk Towing.
The two tugs are part of a $32 million capital investment by seabulk in series of five Robert Allan Ltd.-designed tractor tugs. Two of the three sisters are working in Lake Charles, La., in LNG operations and the other in Port Arthur, Tex.
The tugs were built By the Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Panama City, Fla.
