A frequent cruiser, Warren Samut, president and CEO of Maritime Replicas, was sitting one day on the Royal Viking Star when a fellow passenger, who knew of Samut's love of the sea and his success as an architect, approached him and asked if Samut would be interested in building him models of the ship he loved. After this meeting Samut's life would change forever.
Samut's passion for the sea came at an early age. At six years old he began building models. At the age of 13 he applied for a cadetship in the Royal Navy, and although he was accepted, he had to relinquish the opportunity when his mother said no.
