Adonis sold for more than $1 million.(Update)

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration has sold the Adonis, a Liquid-bulk tanker from the Beaumont Reserve fleet, for $1,151,727 to International Shipbreaking, Ltd., Brownsville, Tex.
The ship brought the highest price for an obsolete ship under the Maritime Administration's program, which disposes of obsolete ships in an eco-friendly manner.
International Shipbreaking, Ltd., also purchased three other ships from the government. The Cape Catawba and the Cape Canaveral, both breakbulk freighters, were purchased from the James River Reserve Fleet site. While the Buyer, a breakbulk vessel was purchased, like the Adonis, from the Beaumont Reserve fleet.
