United Business Media (London) has restructured CMP Technology (Manhasset, NY) into four new, marketfocused businesses, each with its own CEO. As part of the reorganization, the CMP name has been eliminated.
TechWeb, formerly CMP'S Business Technology Group, is led by CEO Tony Uphoffand is organized to focus on the needs of technology decision makers and marketers. The business operates a range of live events, including Interop, Web 2.0, Black Hat and VoiceCon, online resources such as the TechWeb Network, Light Reading, Intelligent Enterprise, InformationWeek.com, bMighty.com and the Financial Technology Network, as well as three technology magazines, including "InformationWeek," "TechNet" and "MSDN." TechWeb also offers such services as performance marketing, custom media, and research and analysis. The company had 2007 pro forma revenues of $1.48 million.

Everything Channel, formerly CMP Channel, is led by CEO Robert Faletra and offers high-tech suppliers and solution providers access to a portfolio of channel products including the ChannelWeb online network, "CRN" and "VARBusiness" magazines, the Xchange and Vision events, workflow tools, sales support, marketing services, and research and education products. Everything Channel had 2007 pro forma revenues of $73 million.
The third new business, TechInsights (San Francisco, CA), formerly CMP's Electronics Group, is headed by CEO Paul Miller and is organized to offer business and technical information for professionals in the electronics industry. The new company produces a range of print and online information resources as well as related conferences and events. Brands include "EE Times," published in 11 editions worldwide, "Electronics Supply Manufacturing," "RFID World" and "Embedded Systems Design" magazines, the DiesignLine series of online resources (Power Management, DSP, Programmable Logic, etc.), related conferences, the TechInsights events and Semiconductor Insights. The business had pro forma 2007 revenues of $83 million.
Think Services, formerly CMP's Game, Dr. Dobb's and International Customer Management Group is led by CEO Philip Chapnick and is designed to offer products that link specialized communities via interactive media, educational events, consulting, training and certification. The business operates the Game Developer's Conference, Gamasutra.com, the Intern=ational Customer Management Institute, the Help Desk Institute, and "Game Developer," "HDI SupportWorld" and "Dr. Dobb's Journal." The business had 2007 pro forma revenues of $61 million.
