Ideal Media (New York), a unit of Schofield Media (Chicago, IL) and the publisher of "Beverage World," "Restaurant Business," "FoodService Director" and "ID" magazines, has acquired the assets of CTQ Media (Bainbridge Island, WA) and its subsidiary, iSixSigma LLC. No terms of the deal were . given. Schofield Media is a portfolio company of Veronis, Suhler Stevenson (New York).
Established in 2000, CTQ Media is a high-tech b2b media business that offers information designed to "help businesses worldwide improve execution." It produces "iSixSigma Magazine," iSixSigma.com, a portal that carries business process improvement content for approximately 500,000 readers each month, and BPMEnterprise.com, RealInnovation.com and Sourcingmag.com.

"iSixSigma" magazine was launched in 2005 and is published six times a year for a controlled circulation of 12,500 executives in a range of industry sectors, including telecommunications, manufacturing, computers, financial services, healthcare, and aerospace/defense. Content carries practical information on the latest methodologies, strategies and tools that will help readers "run their businesses more profitably." Editorial includes articles on such topics as team dynamics, leadership, compensation, approaches to certification, companies deploying Lean Six Sigma, research and sustaining projects.
CTQ Media founder Michael Cyger said "together (with Schofield) we expect to expand in many areas, including online, in print and in-person." The purchase represents the fifth acquisition by Schofield Media in three years, including Hartford Publications, the publisher of "Railway Strategies" and "Modern Utilities Management" magazines, in 2004, RedCoat Publishing in January 2005, four titles from VNU Business Media in March 2005, and "European Supply Chain Management" in July 2005, SB Communications Group in January 2006.
Schofield Media produces 26 b2b magazines and operates conferences and events in the U.S. and U.K., including such titles as "US Business Review," "Venture," "Construction Today" and "Furniture Interiors."
