Forrester acquires JupiterResearch

Forrester Research, Inc. (Cambridge, MA), a provider of research, consulting services, events and executive programs for IT, marketing and technology industry professionals, has acquired JupiterResearch, Inc. (New York), and its parent company, JUPR Holdings, Inc., from MCG Capital Corp. (Arlington, VA) for $23 million in cash plus assumed liabilities. Forrester was represented by The Jordan, Edmiston Group (New York) in the deal.

JupiterResearch provides research, analysis and advice, backed by data, to help companies profit from the impact of the Internet and emerging consumer technologies on their business. It provides online advertising, marketing and customer service strategies, information on technology selection, spending, staffing and Web site effectiveness, and market opportunities, positioning, product definition and pricing.

Clients have access to analysts, research reports, survey data and market forecasts. The acquired company has employees and 2007 revenues of approximately $14 million. JupiterResearch joins Forrester's Marketing & Strategy Client Group, which contributed $46.4 million to Forrester's total 2007 revenue of $212 million.

Forrrester said that "uniting JupiterResearch and Forrester brings together the two leading research brands used by marketing and strategy executives" Purchasing the company "is a significant step in our growth strategy" for that segment of Forrester's business.
