Business Publisher, August 16, 2002

Virgo Publishing (Phoenix, AZ) will begin the publication of Today's Surgicenter magazine with an October/November issue. After a December/January issue, regular monthly publication will begin in February.

The new title will have a paid and controlled circulation of 22,000 healthcare professionals, including ceo's, directors, materials managers and chiefs of staff working at hospitals, surgical facilities, short-stay suites, post-surgery recover care facilities and group purchasing organizations. Virgo said the circulation list was obtained through its own database, including list activities, e-mail, telemarketing, trade show and subscription promotions.

Virgo said the title is "written and edited for decision-makers charged with implementing today's business and clinical solutions." Editorial will include information on clinical issues, business and management topics, governmental policies, regulation, certification and accreditation. It will include analysis of demographic trends and the impact of those trends on the ambulatory care industry and new technologies.

The first issue will include stories on robotic surgery, preventing wrong--site surgeries, chronomedicine, telesurgery, and OR automation.

Virgo produces nearly two dozen magazine titles for a wide variety of fields, including the related titles Infection Control, EndoNurse, Forensic Nurse and Assisted Living Success.
