Sackett Business Media (Oak Brook, IL), a new company headed by trade publishing veteran Nancy Hartley and including former Cygnus Business Media cfo Craig Schroeder, has acquired Metal Center News magazine from Metal Bulletin Group (Surrey, UK). No terms were given. Metal Bulletin acquired the title, along with American Metal Market and New Steel magazines, from Cahners Business Media in May of this year for $11 million.
Established in 1961, the acquired magazine is published 13 times a year with a controlled circulation of 15,200 professionals in the metals distribution industry, including the service centers that warehouse, process and distribute carbon and stainless steels, aluminum and copper and brass.

Sackett president Hartley said that "I've been publishing this title for the past year, first with Cahners and then with Metal Bulletin, and it has tremendous reader affiliation and loyalty." Besides her time with Cahners and Metal Bulletin, Hartley has worked for Cygnus Business Media, Delta Communications and Gorman Publishing.
