Continuing its restructuring in the face of declining revenues, Ziff Davis has ceased publication of Smart Partner magazine as of the Nov. 1 issue and has merged eWeek into Interactive Week

Business Publisher, Nov 17, 2001

Continuing its restructuring in the face of declining revenues, Ziff Davis (New York) has ceased publication of Smart Partner magazine as of the Nov. 1 issue and has merged eWeek into Interactive Week. Smart Partner, launched in January 1998, was closed because "growth for the title is limited due to a consolidating market," Ziff Davis said.

It had a controlled circulation of 120,000 IT professionals and industry consultants. eWeek was launched as PC Week by an independent company in 1983 and later acquired by ZD. Interactive Week will incorporate 45,000 of eWeek's circulation, increasing its own ciruclation to 445,000. ZD said the merger of the two titles was due to the continued convergence of the computing and Internet-based services industries. In the past two months, Ziff has closed both Expedia Travels and Family PC magazines and sold its half ownership in Mac Publishing to IDG.
