Focus Groups: Agents Aware Of Need for E-Commerce.(Brief Article)

Technology is an important part of the independent insurance agent's future, but agents are unsure of what kind of technology they will need, a series of focus groups has found.

The findings of the groups were announced at a meeting of the Agents Council for Technology, a committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of America. The trade group said in a statement that agents want to know what kind of technology they need to compete and how much it will cost.

The focus groups also revealed that agents know that they can't sit and wait for developments--no action on technology is as bad as making the wrong decision, it found.
