John Hancock restores name to agency network.(Companies)(John Hancock Financial Services Inc.)(Brief Article)

Best's Review, March, 2005

John Hancock Life Insurance Co. has decided to restore its brand name to its career agency system after nearly six years as Signator Financial Network. The new name will be John Hancock Financial Network. The company also plans to increase recruiting as a way to double the number of career agents to 3,000 by 2010. To help in that effort, it plans to improve its marketing and training programs and its advanced underwriting activities.

Hancock formed Signator in March 1999, when it required its career agents to join the network or give up their working ties to Hancock. Signator was a stand-alone distribution organization made up of the agents who chose to join it and of more than 2,000 independent contractors affiliated with Hancock.
