Health insurance company Humana Inc. and U.K-based global consumer-brands giant Virgin Group Ltd. said they formed a partnership to develop a new health insurance program.
The companies described their initial joint product as the development of a Virgin-branded and Humana-administered individual health insurance product tied to Virgin's health and fitness reward program. Through the program, Louisville, Ky.-based Humana will be one of the initial business partners for a new, U.S.-based Virgin company called Virgin life care.
The companies said the new individual insurance product, set to launch in early 2006, "represents a groundbreaking effort in championing the customer, and a new day for people seeking innovative ways to stay healthy and fit."...
