Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Florida Inc. completed an alliance that combines their life and diversified business products under a new, jointly owned holding company, the Florida Blues said.
The holding company, Life & Specialty Ventures LLC, now contains 70% ownership of USAble Life and 100% ownership of Florida Combined Life Insurance Co. and Florida Combined Insurance Agency, the Florida Blues said.
USAble Life will manage and market life and disability products for the Florida Blues, the Arkansas Blues and nine other Blues plans, including the Hawaii, North Carolina and Tennessee Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, which equally own the remaining 30% of USAble Life, according to the Florida Blues.
