TWO INSURERS ARE LISTED in Advertising Age's 2004 100 Leading National Advertisers report. Berkshire Hathaway (Geico) ranked No. 58, up from 2003's 74 spot. Allstate Corp. moved up to the 93 ranking, after placing at 114 in 2003. The report states Geico spent $262 million on advertising, an increase of 55.4% from the previous year.
Allstate increased its 2004 ad spending 34% to total $373 million. As an industry, insurance ranked 17 in ad spending, showing an increase of 31% to tally $2.3 billion.
