MetLife adds ID theft service.(Property/Casualty)

Best's Review, March, 2007 by Panko, Ron

MetLife Bank, Warwick, R.I., has added full-service identity-theft resolution assistance to all depositors at no charge. It said it is the first direct bank to provide such services. Personal advocates will assist affected customers with filing police reports, placing fraud alerts with the three major credit bureaus, creating fraud-victim affidavits, notifying governmental agencies, preparing all documents and phone calls to notify creditors, and several other tasks.

Customers may use the service whether or not the suspected identify fraud involves their MetLife Bank account.
