Cigna Group Insurance has named Dr. Allen Woolf to the post of chief medical officer, where he will take charge of the company's programs promoting health and wellness, absence management and productivity, according to the company.
In his new capacity, Woolf also will work closely with the heads of the Philadelphia-based corporation's disability, life and accident products sectors, and with those in charge of its disability subsidiary Intra-corp, the company said.

"He possesses extensive knowledge of the disability and group health industries, which positions him well for this clinical leadership role," Cigna Group President Karen Rohan said in a press release.
