The Guardian Insurance & Annuity Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, has improved its guaranteed minimum withdrawal benefit rider, Lifetime Focus. Guardian increased the minimum amount the guaranteed withdrawal balance will rise annually to 6% from 5%, if no withdrawals are taken during a contract year.
The lifetime withdrawal amount is now available at age 60, down from 65, or at age 62 for married couples. Also up is the maximum benefit provided by the guaranteed roll-up, to 200% of total premiums paid prior to the first withdrawal, from 175%.
